World Cup 2010: Spain vs. Germany in the Semi Finals
There’s a game in every World Cup that comes a round or two, and Germany- Spain definitely qualifies. Two years ago, when both teams met in the final of Euro 2008,and nobody expected Germany to win. And now, history does repeat itself as the reigning European champion matches up again with its runner-up. Sounds like a great World Cup match this year.
Spain has produced its best passing football only in patches, while Germany has been devastating on the counterattack. Spain has lost just twice since the early group plays, yet still going into the World Cup semifinal, and it is Germany that looks like the “Spain is very strong as a unit, both in offense and defense. They have several players who can decide games and tactically they are very good,” Germany coach Joachim Loew said.
Three-time champion Germany will be going up against a Spanish side with a long history of World Cup underachievement in the tournament's second semifinal this Wednesday July 7, 2010, 2:30 pm EDT in Durban Stadium.
